ECAD tools like electrical symbols, types of equipment, rating as per the equipment. The drawing design with ECAD is very simple. You need to use drag and drop options to design the circuit by using software tools.
In this article, I’m listing the topmost electrical CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software. Also, I’m sharing links for ECAD software, free download.
CAD software is used in two main engineering streams Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. For electrical engineering, ECAD (Electrical Computer-Aided Design) software is utilized.
What is the use of ECAD Software?
ECAD software is used to design electrical circuits. It preferred than drawing the design on paper. It means that we don’t require a pen or pencil or paper to draw the circuit.
ECAD software helps to build 2D and 3D type electrical and electronic circuits. Due to the utilization of this designing software, you can easily build, assemble, compose and simulate the circuit. Using this tool for designing, you save your lot of time.
ECAD consists of different software. ECAD tools like electrical symbols, types of equipment, rating as per the equipment.
The drawing design with ECAD is very simple. You need to use drag and drop options to design the circuit by using software tools.
Here you go- topmost CAD software list.
What are the Different Types of ECAD Software?
Here, I am listing the best free (open source) and paid CAD software for electrical and electronic engineers.

How can you make the Best use of these Electrical CAD tools?
Many of these EDA tools provide a free trial for some days. These paid tools are mostly used by the industries as they provide more features as compared to the free software. If you want to get hands-on learning experience with these paid software, you can use their trial version. There can be some restrictions to use some features in the trial version.
I have covered all different 2D CAD and 3D CAD software which are needed for educational purposes and an industrial environment.

What is a Wiring Diagram?
A wiring diagram is a simple visual representation from the physical connections and physical layout of your electrical system or circuit. It shows the way the electrical wires are interconnected which enable it to also show where fixtures and components could possibly be coupled to the system.
Wiring diagrams help technicians to see how a controls are wired to the system. Many people can understand and understand schematics known as label or line diagrams. This type of diagram is much like having a photograph in the parts and wires all connected up.

What is often a Wiring Diagram?
A wiring diagram is a simple visual representation with the physical connections and physical layout of the electrical system or circuit. It shows how the electrical wires are interconnected and can also show where fixtures and components may be coupled to the system.
When and How to Use a Wiring Diagram
Use wiring diagrams to assist in building or manufacturing the circuit or digital camera. They are also a good choice for making repairs.
DIY enthusiasts use wiring diagrams but they’re also common in home building and auto repair.

For example, a home builder should confirm the location of electrical outlets and light-weight fixtures employing a wiring diagram in order to avoid costly mistakes and building code violations.
How can be a Wiring Diagram Different coming from a Schematic?
A schematic shows the program and function to have an electrical circuit, but is not concerned with the physical layout with the wires. Wiring diagrams show how a wires are connected and where they should located in the actual device, along with the physical connections between every one of the components.
How is a Wiring Diagram Different coming from a Pictorial Diagram?
Unlike a pictorial diagram, a wiring diagram uses abstract or simplified shapes and lines to demonstrate components. Pictorial diagrams tend to be photos with labels or highly-detailed drawings with the physical components.

Standard Wiring Diagram Symbols
If a line touching another line has a black dot, it indicates the lines are connected. When unconnected lines are shown crossing, you’ll see a line hop.

Most symbols used on a wiring diagram resemble abstract versions of the real objects they represent. For example, a switch will be a burglary the fishing line with a line with an angle to the wire, similar to the light switch you are able to flip on / off. A resistor will likely be represented having a compilation of squiggles symbolizing the restriction of current flow. An antenna is often a straight line with three small lines branching off at its end, similar to an actual antenna.
