I bought a Netvue camera to use as a baby monitor. I have a lot of problems with it.First, the video gets super delayed. Sometimes by a minute or two. So I’ll be looking at my baby on the monitor sleeping soundly but in reality he’s crying in his crib and I won’t realize it for quite a while.Second, the app doesn’t use two factor authentication so literally any hacker who guesses my password could spy in on my baby, my wife nursing, or anything else going on in that room. I have a pretty complex password, so it’s not a huge deal, but it’s still a risk. Third, the app doesn’t support background video, so I have to keep it full screen in order to monitor my baby. So I can’t use my iPad for anything else while my baby is napping.Fourth, it has a really annoying bug with screen rotation. Whenever you first open the video feed, it launches in portrait orientation regardless of the orientation of your device. If you want to get it to switch to landscape, which is obviously the preferable orientation since it gives you a full view of the camera, you have to turn your device into portrait orientation, and then BACK to landscape orientation, to get it to display and landscape orientation.
Drops off line constantly

I have a vigil 2 outdoor camera. It will not stay on network. Restart does not work on any of my Netvue cameras. So it’s offline until I can unplug it. I put a repeater next to it, still drops off. This is in a vacation home. Not dependable. Support, to date, has been useless. When it works it’s fine. I have several other Netvue cameras at this house they all work fine.

I don’t know if the app needs a update or what, but today the camera started glitching, so I removed it an tried to connect our back up (never used). It won’t even connect. Very disappointing

I purchased 5 of these. For the past 3 weeks only 2 have been working. I tried resetting them, the internet and the app but they still don’t work. These are just a waste of money
New update won’t let me format sd card

I understand with every update things should run smoother and better but 2 mths ago one of my outside cameras stopped recording on SD card as it continues to tell me failed to format SD card and now my second camera is doing the same . Yes I understand you guys want us to buy the iCloud storage but I bought SD card to help me save on monthly / yearly costs . I’ve tried disconnecting , restarting , swapped old sd to new sd to try to format such cars but nothing has helped . Please fix

I have two cameras now. Both run on Ethernet connections. I had some trouble setting up the first. But got help from customer support. I have used customer support a few times. They have always been patient and worked thru everything. You have to be a somewhat technical to set up any kind of camera from a Dvr to a GoPro etc. I don’t feel this is any harder. It’s not magic. For the price of the camera and the yearly subscription it is a good deal. My connections are stable. And the app does its job.

I agree with other reviewers. It is great for live video and even records sounds from outside with the windows closed (with the camera being indoors)... Love that feature, but to review previous events on video... not so good.
7.How to make my camera play properly?
Netvue App Won't Open

- 2.Please check whether your camera is online. The camera name is in green if it’s online, while in red if offline.
- 3.Please check whether the LED on camera back lights normally in green. If yes, the camera is well connected. If it’s off or flashing, it indicates that the camera has not yet been well connected to our server. In that case, please reboot the camera by unplugging the camera’s power cord and replugging again.
- 4.Sometimes network problem or web page problem will lead to problems on playing the video. Please refresh the web page to allow the page to reboot.
- 5.And sometimes the camera can’t connect to server due temporary maintenance or abnormal communication. Please try again later.
- 6.Please check your web browser version. Old versions of web browser may lead to abnormal web page, so the video fails to display properly.Browser requirement: IE7 or above, Firefox 5.0 or above, Chrome 13.0 or above, Safari 3.2 or above, 360 official 4.0 or above etc..
